If India beat Australia: India will take on Australia in their final group-stage match and a win against them will keep them in contention for a place in the semifinal. If New Zealand win their remaining two, it will be a three-way tie between India, New Zealand, and Australia at six points. The two teams with the best NRR will then advance into the semis.
If Australia beat India: If India are beaten by Australia then they will hope that New Zealand lose at least one of their remaining two matches. In this case three teams will be tied on four points. However, even then, NRR will decide which of them will join Australia in the semis.
