Eyeing another sizzling performance, Shubman Gill sweats it out in the gym – See pics

New Delhi: After Shubman Gill was subjected to widespread criticism following a duck in the first innings of the first Test match against Bangladesh, the top-order batter silenced his critics with a stellar century in the second innings of the match. Gill’s century proved to be the benchmark for India’s momentous 280-run win over the visitors in the second Test.

Gill’s unbeaten 119 helped India post a dauting target of 515 for the Bangladesh team and then Ravichandran Ashwin did his magic to help the hosts win the opener by mammoth 280 runs. After a thumping win in Chennai, Team India now move to Kanpur for the second and final Test match of the series.

On Tuesday, Shubman Gill took to his official Instagram handle to share photos and videos of his workout session in the gym. Gill was seen sweating it out in the gym ahead of second Test match between the two teams which begins on September 27, Friday. India would be eyeing a clean sweep in the series while Gill would be eyeing to make his mark again with a noticeable performance.

The prolific batter earned a lot of praise for his sensational century in the first match of the Test series. People from the cricketing fraternity lauded the effort put by Gill, along with Rishabh Pant as both these players played instrumental knocks to anchor India’s innings. Gill made his Test debut against Australia in December 2020 and the right-hander batter has scored 1611 runs in the longest format till now. He has five centuries and six fifties so far in his Test career and averages 37.46.

Meanwhile, Team India, led by skipper Rohit Sharma and head coach Gautam Gambhir landed in Kanpur on Tuesday for the upcoming match.
