New Delhi: The Two-time Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) champion Jaipur Pink Panthers will aim to once again reclaim the PKL title. PKL 11 will set to take place in three-cities format from October 18, Friday in Hyderabad. Star Raider Arjun Deshwal led the Pink Panthers to win the PKL title in 2022. They also have been the most consistent team from the past three seasons in the PKL.
The Panthers added 12 players to their squad in the 2024 PKL auction. The Panthers have been looking solid in both departments raiding and defense on paper. Their start Raider Deshwal is in eighth position in all time raid points with 947 points. They also added two experienced raiders Vikas Kandola and Shrikanth Jadhav to the raiding department. Jadhav has scored 681 points in PKL history, while Kandola has over 800 points with him.
The Panthers also had a backup raider Neeraj Narwal, who contributed more when the team required the most. Narwal has made 175 raid points in his career. Surjeet Singh will lead the pack of defense of Panthers. Surjeet is in the second position for most points in defense with 404 points. The likes of Ankush and Reza Mirbagheri will also help Panthers in the defence department.
Their defense department will be looking solid on paper but will have to wait and watch if they deliver or not. The departure of Sunil Kumar from the defense has dented leadership qualities and defending experience from the squad. Under Sunil’s leadership, Panthers had won 65 matches out of 107 with an impeciable 61% win percentage as captain.
Young players like Neeraj, Lucky Sharma, and Ravi Kumar will have a great opportunity in season 11. Ravi had produced many impactful performances in the previous season. While Lucky will hope to get more opportunities in the PKL 11 and will showcase his talent. Jaipur has the best combination among young and experience talents in the squads.
