New Delhi: The Football Association has charged Brighton manager Fabian Hurzeler, captain of Nottingham Forest Morgan Gibbs-White, and manager Nuno Espirito Santo after they were sent off in Sunday’s Premier League game. Following Gibbs-White’s dismissal in the 83rd minute due to a second booking, both managers were also sent off. The Forest midfielder is accused of acting inappropriately and/or verbally abusing and/or demeaning fourth official Anthony Taylor.
After Chris Wood’s early penalty kick, Albion took the lead thanks to goals from Jack Hinshelwood and Danny Welbeck late in the first half. With 20 minutes left, substitute Ramon Sosa took advantage of a defensive blunder by the Seagulls to earn a point. After five top-tier games, both teams had nine points at the end of the day.
What exactly happened
Nuno and Hurzeler face charges of improper behavior, and the Portuguese national is also accused of using derogatory and/or abusive language directed at a match official. The group has until Friday, to react. With seven minutes remaining, Gibbs-White was given a second yellow card for a sliding challenge on Joao Pedro of Brighton. At the time, it was believed that Huerzeler’s red card was due to encroachment after Forest’s Morgan Gibbs-White made that risky tackle in front of the technical areas.
Subsequently, there was a bit of a misunderstanding when Jones indicated that Gibbs-White had used the ball in his challenge to Joao Pedro. Referee Rob Jones ejected Hurzeler and Nuno for their responses to the incident on the touchline at the conclusion of the thrilling 2-2 draw, which kept both teams’ perfect starts in the Premier League. Hurzeler won’t be in the dugout when Brighton plays Chelsea on Saturday, while Gibbs-White and Nuno won’t be available for Forest’s home league match against Fulham.
After a heated confrontation, the FA released a new discipline report for Fabian Hurzeler and the “improper” Nottingham Forest pair. Football Sports News: Latest Cricket News, Cricket Live Score, Sports Breaking News from Sports Today
