New Delhi: Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) and Domestic Institutional Investors (DII) have placed their bets on three stocks which are priced below Rs 50. All the three counters are banking shares. It may be noted that when foreign investors and DIIs raise stakes in some companies, the stocks tend to become the talk of the town.

Foreign investors infused Rs 4,223 crore in the country’s equity market in April 2025 as they returned to the Indian stock market and turned net buyers for the first time in three months. The FIIs came back amid a blend of favourable global cues and robust domestic fundamentals.

Let’s see the holding pattern of FIIs and DIIs in the three banking stocks:

UCO Bank

UCO Bank is a public sector bank which offers retail, corporate and treasury services.
The government-owned bank has 3,263 branches, 2,478 ATMs and 10,653 business correspondents.
DIIs’ increased their stake from 1.33 per cent in December 2024 to 5.36 per cent in March 2025.
FIIs raise their holdings by 0.42 per cent.
UCO Bank shares closed at Rs 31.53 apiece on May 2, 2025.

Punjab and Sind Bank

Punjab and Sind Bank is engage din the banking business and provides deposit, loan, remittance services.
It has 1,610 branches, 1,047 ATMs and 2,041 business correspondents.
The domestic investors raised their shareholding from 0.65 per cent in December 2024 to 4.32 per cent in March 2025.
FIIs increased their share from by 0.7 per cent.
The counter closed at Rs 29.33 on May 2.

Central Bank Of India

Central Bank Of India is a government-controlled bank.
It has 4,545 branches, 4,085 ATMs and 12,260 business correspondents across the country.
DIIs’ share increased from 2.82 per cent in December 2024 to 5.87 per cent in March 2025.
FIIs share went up by 0.9 per cent.
The stock closed at Rs 36.74 per equity share on 2nd May.

FIIs had resorted to relentless selling. They pulled out Rs 3,973 crore in March, Rs 34,574 crore in February and Rs 78,027 crore in January. V K Vijayakumar, Chief Investment Strategist, Geojit Investments, said that in future FPI investments could remain stable, but will be constrained by the modest earnings growth of around 5 per cent in FY25.
