New Delhi: Barcelona have been one of the many teams that have been linked with Marcus Rashford this month, which though will only go through if Ansu Fati leaves the side permanently or on loan. For now, Barca cannot afford the English attacker as they have reached the maximum salary limit, which makes a departure a necessity.

Rashford is seen as the ideal replacement to Fati and hence he is the number one on the list of leaving the club. While both Eric Garcia and Andreas Christensen have been linked with exits, Barcelona are likely to prefer a move for the Spanish international as he doesn’t fit in head coach Hansi Flick’s plans.

While Fati has been linked with Tottenham Hotspur this week, media reports suggest that he is adamant about staying at Blaugrana for the rest of the season and hoping to force himself back into the team’s tactical plans. While this could disrupt Rashford’s move to Barcelona, there might be some good news that might come the club’s way.

Jose Mourinho’s interest in Ansu Fati

According to media reports, Jose Mourinho is keen on bringing Fati to Fenerbahce. The former Man United and Real Madrid manager wasn’t the most impressed with Allan Saint-Maximin in the current season and replacing Fati with the Al Ahli loanee.

Mourinho would like Fenerbahve to start talks at the earliest with Barcelona in the scenario where Saint-Maximin’s loan is cancelled. While Barca would be delighted by the proposition, conditions to cover a significant amount of the part of the wages for the remainder of the season will be there in their agreement.

Barcelona may remain hopeful about Fenerbahce’s interest, but it would be a big surprise if Fati does agree to the deal. If he stays with the Catalans until summer, Rashford has no chance of arriving at Camp Nou. Rashford on the other hand hasn’t featured in Man United’s squad since the Red Devil’s loss to Newcastle on the 2025 New Year’s Eve clash. He last played for United in the Europa League clash against Viktoria Plzen and hasn’t been in manager Ruben Amorim’s plans for a while now.

While Barcelona have been targeting Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford, Ansu Fati has remained adamant at staying at the club until the end of the season and work his way back in Hansi Flick’s side.  Football Sports News: Latest Cricket News, Cricket Live Score, Sports Breaking News from Sports Today
