New Delhi: The race to the top of the ICC ODI rankings for batters is heating up with the Indian duo closing in at No.1 ranked Babar Azam of Pakistan. Babar stays ahead but with a narrow lead at the top as India’s Shubman Gill and Rohit Sharma make big gains following good scores during the ODI series against England.
Gill jumps one place to move to second in the batting charts. He is just five rating points behind Babar after successive half-centuries against England. Meanwhile, India skipper Rohit is 13 rating points adrift of the Pakistan legend following his excellent century in Cuttack.
With just one week to go until the start of the ICC Champions Trophy in Pakistan and the UAE, the race for the top position for batting in the 50-over format is poised for a thrilling finish.
