New Delhi: Former Indian cricketer Vinod Kambli was felicitated at the 50th anniversary of the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Kambli, who was recently discharged from a private hospital for serious health issues, looked visibly frail in the videos that were circulated on social media. The anniversary event, which was organised by the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA), was Kambli’s first appearance in public after getting discharged from the hospital.
The former Indian batter was greeted in the event by ex-Indian cricketers Sanjay Manjrekar and Wasim Jaffer. Kambli, who is unable to walk properly, went to the podium to collect his award with the help of two individuals. In a touching gesture especially keeping his bad health in mind, Kambli touched the feet of legendary cricketer Sunil Gavaskar before receiving his award and then posed for the cameras with a smile.

Vinod Kambli’s health complications
Vinod Kambli has faced significant health issues since some years due to his alcohol addition and many other problems. Back in the year 2013, Kambli suffered two heart attack and had to undergo two heart surgeries. Over the years, the 52-year-old made headlines for his his struggle with depression after calling it quits from Indian cricket.
Last month, his health took a serious turn and the ex-Indian player had to be admitted to Akruti Hospital in Bhiwandi for a urinary tract infection and brain clots, which were found during some medical procedure. However, soon after he was discharged from the hospital as he urged all the youngsters to stay away from alcohol and drugs.
