Aadhaar card free update
The deadline for free online Aadhaar card update falls on September 14, 2024. The deadline was extended from June 14, 2024, to September 14, 2024. After this date, any Aadhaar card address or identity changes will be chargeable at RS 25 per change. To be sure, Aadhaar card changes are chargeable at physical centres even now.
Changes to RuPay Card reward points
The NPCI has directed card issuers agaisnt deducting the charges for RuPay credit cards and UPI transactions from a customer’s accumulated reward points with effect from September 1, 2024.
RBI’s new rules for credit card issuers
The RBI directed card issuers against entering into exclusive contracts related to card network providers. This deadline comes into effect from September 6, 2024.
IDFC First, HDFC Bank credit card rule change
IDFC First Bank has changed the rules related to payment of credit card dues and adjustments such as the minimum amount due effective September 1, 2024. HDFC Bank credit card rules related to loyalty points will be tweaked with effect from September 1, 2024.
Special FD schemes
IDBI Bank has extended the last date for Utsav FDs across 300-, 375-, 44-, and 700-day tenures to September 30, 2024, from June 30, 2024, earlier. Indian Bank has extended the last date for Ind Super 300-day FDs to September 30, 2024. Punjab and Sindh Bank has extended the deadline to open FDs under the special 222-day deposit scheme and 333-day deposit scheme to September 30, 2024. SBI has extended the deadline for opening an Amrit Kalash FD with 400-day tenure, offering a 7.10 per cent interest rate to general depositors, to September 30, 2024. The last date for opening SBI WeCare scheme has also been extended until September 30, 2024.
Income tax deadlines
September 7, 2024, marks the deadline for depositing taxes collected for the month of August 2024. The deadline for issuing the TDS certificate for taxes deducted under Section 194-IA is September 14, 2024. This applies to TDS collected in July 2024.
