New Delhi: Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell pulled off an absolute blinder on the boundary rope during his side Melbourne Stars’ clash against Brisbane Heat in the Big Bash League (BBL) 2024-25 on Wednesday. It was a superhuman catch from the all-rounder with many calling it one of the best catches of the year already.
Maxwell pulled off the sensational effort during the 17th over of Brisbane Heat’s innings to get rid of Will Prestwidge cheaply on 4 off 10 balls off the bowling of Dan Lawrence. Prestwidge smashed a full-length delivery from spinner Lawrence straight down the ground and the ball seemed destined to cross the boundary rope for a six. However, Maxwell, who was stationed at long-on, cut the ball short of the rope with a brilliant effort.
He plucked the ball by timing his jump to perfection before flicking it back to ensure he didn’t step over the rope with the ball in hand. Maxwell then managed to get back on the field just in time to complete a stunning juggling effort, leaving the fans stunned. The video of his superhuman effort took social media by storm with fans praising the reflexes of the Aussie star.
