New Delhi: Gold Price in India (22 carat) fell by Rs 10 per unit to Rs 68,140 per 10 gram (gm) on Saturday, July 20, 2024, while, 18-carat gold price in India stood at Rs 55,750 per 10 gm. Silver price today in India also fell by Rs 100 per unit to Rs 93,150 per kg, according to data from Good Returns.
MCX Gold Rate
Gold price today rose 0.04 per cent to Rs 73,016 per 10 gm on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX). Silver prices wereup marginally by 0.03 per cent to Rs 89,675 per kg on the MCX today.

Gold Price Fall Reason
Yellow metal prices fell for the second day in a row after rates increased to all-time high levels during the ongoing week. Commodity experts blamed profit booking as the reason behind the fall in gold prices. Traders also blamed weak commodity trend in the overseas markets and easing demand by jewellers as other gold price fall reasons.
Before this, prices had continuously risen in the preceding 6 trading sessions. Spot prices of the yellow metal in India crossed the Rs 76,000 mark on Thursday. After the US Federal Reserve gave signs of 2 interest rate cuts this year, the commodity market became buoyant. A sharp rally was seen in both gold and silver prices.
According to commodity market analysts, traders bet that there is a 95 per cent chance of a September 2024 rate cut by the US Central Bank. Commodity traders have bet that there is only a 50 per cent chance that a Fed rate cut may come later in November this year.
