New Delhi: Gongadi Trisha etched her name in history books on Tuesday, January 28, by becoming the first player in the ICC Women’s U19 T20 World Cup history to score a hundred. The right-handed batter scored the landmark century during India’s Super Six match against Scotland, which is currently being played at Bayuemas Oval in Kuala Lumpur.
Dubbed as India’s future superstar, the 19-year-old crossed the three-figure mark with a single on the last ball of the 18th over. Trisha, who reached the century in just 53 balls, remained unbeaten on 110 runs from 59 balls. Her sensational knock helped India post a huge total of 208 runs for the loss of one wicket in 20 overs.
Trisha’s century was studded with 13 fours and 4 sixes. She and G Kamalini (51 from 42 balls) stitched a 147-run stand for the first wicket in 13.3 overs. Trisha then added 61 for the second wicket with Sanika Chalke (29 from 20 balls).

India on course to win fifth successive match
India, who have already qualified for the semifinals, look on course to win their fifth successive match in the ongoing tournament.
The 110-run knock powered Trisha to the top in the run-scoring chart in the ICC Women’s U-19 T20 World Cup 2025. She has amassed 230 runs in five matches played so far, a tally which is way ahead of Davina Sarah T Perrin of England, who is in second place with 131 runs in four matches.
Trisha eyes Shweta Sehrawat’s record
Trisha is just 68 runs away from breaking Shweta Sehrawat’s record of scoring the most runs in one edition of the Women’s U-19 T20 World Cup.
Shweta has aggregated a total of 297 runs in seven matches in the inaugural edition of the tournament, which was played in 2023 in South Africa.
India became the inaugural champions of the ICC Under-19 Women’s T20 World Cup two years ago after beating England by 7 wickets.
