New Delhi: Hansi Flick has revealed some Major clues about his summer transfer plans. The former manager of Bayern Munich is eager to guarantee that the 2024–25 season gets off to a good start, and he has already started making plans in Barcelona. At the end of July, his team will depart for a preseason tour of the United States, although some important players will be absent due to injury.
On Saturday, Flick conducted his first interview with Barca One, Barcelona’s official media channel, where he discussed a range of subjects, including his objectives for the transfer market. Flick praises La Masia’s talent pipeline but is realistic about what Barcelona needs to do to contend for prizes, saying Nico Williams of Athletic Club should be their main aim.
Barcelona has made Williams their top priority, and they are getting ready to make a bid to initiate trade negotiations with Bilbao before the season starts. However, Flick will certainly look at other options too, as he has big plans for next season. The list might include the following few players who can do well for the team and might turn out to be good signing for Barcelona.
Nico Williams

One of their top targets in this shuffle would be the talented Spanish winger Nico Williams, who had a brilliant Euro campaign with the Spanish national team as he was amongst the major candidates who led Luis de la Fuente’s side to glory. However, nothing has been confirmed till now, but the Barcelona board are pushing the limits to sign the young forward, who had formidable partnership with the 17 year old Lamine Yamal at the Euros.
The 22-year-old winger looked bright and dangerous for the Athletic Bilbao side, last season where he had 24 goal contributions in all competitions. Besides, he had an impressive performance at the Euros, for the Spanish side as he scored in the final against England to guide his team towards the title. His partnership with the La Masia sensation Lamine Yamal could be a pivotal part for Hansi Flick’s side next season.
Leon Goretzka

Leon Goretzka was an important member of the sextuple winning Bayern Munich side, and Flick would be thrilled to have him on his team yet again. A superb box-to-box midfielder with the physicality, vision, and warrior mindset that Barcelona sorely needs right now. Barca have options from their academy for the ageing Ilkay Gundogan and the injury prone Frenkie De Jong, but signing Goretzka would provide the team the experience and skill level they require.
Besides, his style of play that involves strength, hard tackling, and the perfect box to box play would benefit the Catalunians, as we have already witnessed him perform under Hansi Flick at Bayern. It would be interesting to see if Flick would be willing to ask the board to sign the 29-year-old midfielder.
Lois Openda

Belgium certainly didn’t have their best campaign and Lois Openda barely produced any sort of involvement in their games but he had a tremendous Bundesliga campaign with RB Leipzig. The Belgian has the youth on his side as he is just 24 and has a lot to offer. Openda had a brilliant campaign with the German side RB Leipzig, with 30+ goal contributions as he ranked third in the Bundesliga top scorers list with 24 league goals. The Belgian centre forward also scored four times in the Champions league.
His pace and ability to drift past the defenders make him a big time threat for the opposition and it is something that would make the Barcelona front line even more dangerous with Yamal on the right, Openda as a centre forward and potentially, Nico Williams on the left flank of the park. His finishing is very well proven as his numbers do the talking here which make him the perfect target for Hansi Flick.

Dani Olmo is currently linked with a few clubs, after a wonderful Euro campaign with the Spanish national side. The 26-year-old was the joint top scorer along with a few more candidates as he had five goal contributions throughout the Euro campaign. He was yet another major candidate who was crucial behind the Spanish success, scoring and assisting in big games against Germany and France in the final stages of the tournament.
The attacking midfielder has been a part of the Leipzig squad for a while now, and maybe this is the time that he finally gets his big move. If Hansi Flick takes a closer inspection and decides to put his faith on the Spaniard, this might prove to be a successful signing for FC Barcelona. At the age of 26, Olmo has a lot to offer and his playing style would suit Flick’s plans pretty well.
