HDFC Bank sets minimum threshold for UPI transaction SMS alerts

New Delhi: India’s largest private sector bank, HDFC Bank has decided to set a threshold for UPI transactions for which it will share SMS alerts to accountholders. With effect from June 25,2 024, HDFC Bank will not share SMS updates for UPI transactions wherein money received was less than Rs 500 and money sent was less than Rs 100.

In an email communication to accountholders, the lender stated that while UPI transaction alerts will be sent via email, SMS alerts will only be triggered on crossing specific thresholds mentioned above. HDFC Bank offers multiple alert options to customers. Here’s how to register for email alerts:

Select ‘get OTP’

How to deactivate insta alerts

You can also deactivate insta alerts via netbanking.
Visit the online banking website of HDFC Bank.
Log in to your account
Select ‘insta alerts’ and enter the account number for which you wish to stop alerts
Select alert types and click ‘delete’
Select ‘confirm’
Alerts will be de-registered

How much does HDFC Bank charge for Insta Alerts

HDFC Bank charges Rs 3 per quarter for SMS alerts
Going forward, the bank will charge only 20 paise + GST for every SMS
