New Delhi: HDFC Bank UPI alert limit is set tp kick in from Monday, June 25, 2024, onwards, country’s largest private sector lender said. HDFC Bank said that its customers will not get any SMS alert for small UPI transactions going forward. To be sure, the lender will continue to send email alerts to customers on all such UPI transactions.

HDFC Bank UPI alert limit means that the SMS service for transactions in the range of Rs 100 to Rs 500.
Customers will not receive SMS alerts regarding UPI debit transactions worth up to Rs 100.

HDFC Bank email ID update
HDFC Bank UPI alert limits have kicked in but this does not mean that customers will not be notified about UPI transactions made from their account. Customers will continue to receive email alerts regarding UPI transactions pertaining to any ticket amount, provided their email IDs are updated with the lender. If anybody has not updated their email with the bank, they might also not receive UPI alerts over the email, according to an email sent by HDFC Bank to customers regarding its latest policy on UPI SMS alerts.
“Starting from 25th June, 2024: Email Alerts: Continue to receive email alerts for all UPI transactions. SMS Notifications: Now only for transactions above Rs 100 (money sent/paid) and Rs 500 (money received).”

HDFC Bank will send 6 digit code to your registered mobile number
Enter that code and your email id will get updated
According to HDFC Bank’s website, if your phone number is not updated, you will have to visit the bank’s branch to update your email details. The private lender will stop SMS alerts for small-value UPI transactions to reduce costs and avoid duplication of alert messages as customers already get such alert messages from fintech apps on which UPI transactions are made.
