Washington: Nicolas Puech, the heir to luxury fashion brand Hermes, who once promised to leave half of his wealth to his former garden now claims that the money has vanished.
The 81-year-old descendant of Hermes founder Thierry Hermes told the court that $6 million shares of his brand worth $13 billion (Rs 10,000 crore) which he owned have disappeared, as per reports.
The elderly billionaire has blamed his former manager who worked for him for almost 20 years, claiming that he has a role in the loss of shares. However, these claims were rejected by a Swiss court after Puech was unable to provide evidence of the wrongdoing.
“The ‘gigantic fraud” to which he was victim was undetectable to common mortals,” it said.
Puech, who is a single man has no children and is said to transfer half of his wealth to his former garden, whom he was planning to adopt. Not much is known about the gardener-handyman other than him who is 51 year old and is currently living in Morocco
As per Forbes, Mr Puech’s current net worth is around $11.7 billion, making him the world’s 161st-richest person.
