New Delhi: The most affordable country for immigrants in 2024 turned out to be Vietnam, according to the InterNations Expat Insider 2024 poll. Vietnam remained the most affordable country for expatriates for the 3rd straight year. The South East Asian country has also been recognised for its favourable living circumstances for foreigners.
Kathrin Chudoba, InterNations’ Chief Marketing Officer, said home affordability was a key component of an expatriates’ overall happiness and countries such as Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines, and Indonesia scored exceptionally high in this respect since expats were reportedly positive about the availability and affordability of housing alternatives.
India’s rank among world’s most affordable countries for expats
Asian countries dominated this year’s ranking, claiming 6 of the top 10 slots. Southeast Asia stood out with Vietnam leading the pack, followed by Indonesia, the Philippines, and Thailand, all of which were in the top 10. This indicates Southeast Asia’s rising attraction among expats looking for a good blend of affordability and quality of life.
Colombia, Indonesia, Panama, and the Philippines followed Vietnam in the rankings, reinforcing the region’s reputation for providing desirable living circumstances for expats. India again reached the top 10, showing its affordability and welcoming atmosphere for expats wishing to live in the nation.
