How MS Dhoni’s sister became a driving force behind his cricket journey

New Delhi: Legendary cricketer MS Dhoni is one of the most loved cricketers in the country. The former Indian captain is known for his ability to stay calm in pressure situations and his humility and loving nature off the field.

The 43-year-old led India to victory in the 2007 T20 World Cup, 2011 ODI World and 2013 Champions Trophy. Dhoni also won five Indian Premier League (IPL) titles and two Champions League titles with Chennai Super Kings (CSK). He has scored 4876 runs in 90 Tests, 10773 runs in 350 ODI matches and 1617 runs in 98 T20I matches.

Dhoni played his last match for India during the 2019 ODI World Cup semi-final against New Zealand and announced his retirement from international cricket in August 2020. His future participation in the IPL is still unknown as the BCCI has not announced the retention rules for the upcoming season.

Jayanti Yadav’s role in MS Dhoni’s cricketing career

Dhoni’s struggle and hard work are primarily responsible for his achievements in cricket but his sister Jayanti Yadav also played a significant role in his success. The former Indian skipper grew up in a middle-class family and his father Pan Singh Dhoni worked in a mid-level government job.

Jayanti is about 3-4 years older than Dhoni and she ensured that he pursued his passion for cricket. She always encouraged and supported her brother’s choices and encouraged him to pursue his dream of becoming an Indian cricketer. Jayanti even stood up for Dhoni when their father was against his dream.

Just like her family, Jayanti also maintains a low profile. As per the media reports, she teaches English in a public school in Ranchi (Jharkhand) and is married to MS Dhoni’s closest friend Gautam Gupta. He also played an important role in Dhoni’s cricketing career and helped him in his early days as a state and district cricketer.

MS Dhoni’s elder sister, Jayanti Yadav played an important role in his cricketing career. As a captain, Dhoni won three ICC trophies and five IPL trophies.  Cricket Sports News: Latest Cricket News, Cricket Live Score, Sports Breaking News from Sports Today
