New Delhi: UFC returned to Seattle after 13 years and the event was headlined by Song Yadong vs Henry Cejudo. The main event included many controversies as the fight ended in just three rounds after Cejudo pulled out from the fight due to double eye pokes by Yadong.
The UFC Seattle fight card started with a bang as all seven fights in the preliminary card ended in a knockout and fans were enjoying the show. The controversy engaged in the main events’ fights.
The first fight in the main card was between Alonzo Menifield and Julius Walker, judges gave a split decision in favor of Menifield. In the third fight of the main card, Rob Font won the fight against Jean Matsumoto via split decision.
This was the second time on the same night that judges weren’t able to give a decision in one fighter’s favor. The main controversy erupted in the main event of the night, where Cejudo refused to fight after three rounds.
Song was dominating the fight against Cejudo but in the third round, Song hit a low blow to Cejudo and Cejudo was unhappy with his attack. After that Song hit an eye poke to Cejudo.
Song again hit an eye poke and then Cejudo took a five-minute break during the fight, which caused chaos among the fans as the referee was unable to manage the things in the octagon.
Cejudo was unable to see properly and stopped the fight after the third round. Song won the fight by technical decision and this was Triple C’s third consecutive loss in the UFC.
