New Delhi: Hungary’s coach Adam Szalai has been reported to be in stable condition after being taken ill during the first half of his side’s game against Netherlands in the ongoing UEFA Nations League. Seven minutes from kick off, the match had to be suspended briefly in Amsterdam as medics were seen attending Szalai with his fellow coaches forming a protective circle around the 36-year-old.
Szalai was soon taken down the tunnel, with the Hungarian FA stating that the former striker had been taken to a local Amsterdam hospital and was in a “stable and conscious” condition. The match resumed after a 14-minute delay, with Hungary losing 4-0 against the Dutch side. Both Cody Gapko and Wout Weghorst scored from the penalty during the first half of the game.

Before the game, both Netherlands and Hungary were locked with five points from four games in Group Three of League A.
