Pongal

Ingredients:

1 cup rice
1/2 cup moong dal
1 tbsp ghee
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 tsp cumin seeds
1-inch ginger (chopped)
1/4 tsp turmeric
Salt to taste
Curry leaves and cashews

How to make it at home:

Dry roast moong dal in a pan.
Add rice, moong dal, water, and turmeric in a cooker and cook for 4 whistles.
Take another pan for tempering and add ghee, add cumin seeds, pepper, ginger, curry leaves, and cashews.
Top the tempering on the rice mix and serve hot.

Rava Idli

Ingredients:

1 cup rava (semolina)
1/2 cup yogurt
1/2 tsp mustard seeds
1/4 tsp turmeric
1/2 cup water
Salt to taste
Coriander leaves

How to make it at home:

Take a bowl and add rava, yoghurt, turmeric, water, salt and mix well. Let it rest for 20 minutes.
Heat oil on a pan and add mustard seeds, pour the tempering on the batter for flavours. 
Now pour the batter into Idli moulds and steam it for 10 minutes.
Serve hot idlis with chutney for a flavourful breakfast.

Poha

Ingredients:

1 cup poha
1 tbsp oil
1/2 tsp mustard seeds
1/2 onion
1 boiled potato
1/4 tsp turmeric
Salt to taste
Lemon juice and coriander for garnish

How to make it at home:

Rinse poha in water and drain well.
Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds and onion. Roast until golden brown.
Add turmeric, and salt and mix well. Along with it also add potato.
Add poha and mix well, cook it for 5 minutes and serve hot with coriander garnish.

Turmeric milk

Ingredients:

 1 cup milk
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1/2 tsp honey
A pinch of black pepper

How to make it at home:

Heat milk in a pan.
Add black pepper and turmeric.
Mix honey and stir well before serving.

Methi Paratha

Ingredients:

1 cup whole wheat flour
1/2 cup fresh methi leaves
1 tsp carom seeds
Salt to taste
Water
Ghee or butter for cooking

How to make it at home:

Chop fresh methi leaves.
Take a bowl and add flour, methi leaves, carrom seeds and salt.
Knead well to form a dough.
Roll out flat rotis in your choice of shape.
Heat a tawa and cook well with ghee for aromatic flavours.
Serve hot methi paratha in the morning with yoghurt or pickle.
