New Delhi: Australian batter Travis Head is gearing up for the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy. He’s currently in England for the white-ball tour and has played well in the first two T20I matches of the series.
Head has done well against India in 2023 and has scored crucial hundreds in the World Test Championship final and 2023 ODI World Cup helping Australia to win two trophies against India. Speaking to Star Sports ahead of the BGT, Head said that India is not his favourite team and he just feels like Australia plays a lot against the Men in Blue.
“I don’t feel like they’re my favourite. I just feel like we play them enough, play them lots. And, I guess the last couple of years I’ve been in nice form. So yeah, being able to, to play well, it’s always nice. It’s a, I guess it’s not hard to get up for the contest. It’s hugely competitive. Yeah, it’s easier to get up for the game. So I wouldn’t say they’re my favourite” Head said on Star Sports.
Head also said that playing against India is extremely difficult but he’s looking forward to preparing well for the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy “They’re extremely difficult but it’s been nice to play well in a couple of games and looking forward to preparing well and being ready to go and let’s look, hope hopefully I can, I can contribute to what’s a successful summer for us” Head added.
