New Delhi: Virat Kohli had a forgetful outing as New Zealand defeated India by 113 runs in the 2nd Test at the MCA Stadium in Pune to bag their second win on the trot and clinch the three-match series with an unassailable 2-0 lead. The Tom Latham-led side created history as the Kiwis won their first-ever Test series on Indian soil.
It was yet another shattering defeat for the hosts, who were thoroughly outplayed in all three departments by the visitors. India saw their incredibly dominant run come to an end in Tests at home as they suffered their first Test series defeat in 12 years. New Zealand ended India’s streak of 18 successive Test series victories with their win.
Kohli endured dismal outings in both innings of the Test match as he was dismissed cheaply on 1 and 17 in the two innings respectively. While Kohli failed to turn up for India with the bat, his supporters clashed with a fan in the stands during the Pune Test. In a video that has gone viral on social media, a group of Kohli supporters can be seen arguing with a fan in the stands during the game.

Kohli was dismissed by New Zealand all-rounder Mitchell Santner in both innings as his struggles against spin were once again left exposed during the Test match. Santner made the most of the rank turner at the MCA Stadium to make the Indian batters dance to his tunes and wreak havoc with the ball. The left-arm spinner picked up an impressive 13 wickets in the match to spin New Zealand to a historic series victory in India.
Virat Kohli will aim to bounce back in 3rd Test
Kohli, who has been far from consistent in Test cricket of late, will hope to get back among the runs when India take on New Zealand in the third and final Test match of the three-match series at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on November 01. Kohli has only 88 runs in his 4 innings in the ongoing series against New Zealand with a solitary half-century to his name.
