New Delhi: Rishabh Pant’s terrific comeback to cricket after a life-threatening accident is truly an inspirational story. The story of his remarkable return to cricket has impressed one and all in the cricketing fraternity. Latest to be vocal about the same is Mitchell Marsh, who expressed his admiration for the Indian cricketer.
Marsh, in an interaction with Star Sports, described Pant as ‘ripping bloke’ and wished he could have played for Australia. The wicketkeeper-batter made a comeback to the international cricket in the white-ball format earlier this year and recently in the Test series opener against Bangladesh in Chennai, he proved his mark with a century in the red-ball format.
I wish Pant was Australian: Mitchell Marsh
Mitchell Marsh in the interaction praised Rishabh Pant’s positivity, competitiveness and desire to win. “He’s a ripping bloke. I wish he was Australian. He’s obviously been through a lot over the last few years, and it’s been a hell of a comeback,” Marsh told Star Sports. “He’s a positive guy, still really young, and he loves winning. He’s highly competitive for someone who has the persona of being relaxed and always laughing and smiling. He’s got that big smile,” said Marsh.
Apart from Pant, Travis Head also spoke highly of Pant stating the Indian cricketer he believes is most Australian would be Rishabh Pant. He further stated that the way the Indian cricketer goes about his aggressive nature and his work ethics would make him very enjoyable to play with. With the final Test match to go against Bangladesh, Pant would be eyeing another sensational performance so as to remain well equipped for the future Test series against New Zealand and the all important Border-Gavaskar Trophy. India lock horns with Bangladesh in the second Test match on Friday in Kanpur.
