New Delhi: While he’s on the field, he never ceases to amaze the audience. Glenn Maxwell, considered as one of the fiercest players in world cricket, always lives by the expectations and continues to entertain the crowd. The hard-hitting batter was on a six-hitting spree in the Qualifier 1 match of the Major League Cricket 2024 in Dallas on Friday.
In the contest between San Francisco Unicorns and Washington Freedom for a place in the final, Maxwell smashed as many as five sixes enroute to his fiery half-century for the Washington side. The lethal Aussie batter remained unbeaten on 54 off just 23 balls, which helped his side pull off an easy 146-run target in just 15.3 overs with seven wickets in hand.
Maxwell’s audacious hit
Among his insane hitting, a maximum he smashed off Pakistan bowler Hassan Khan gained a lot of attraction in the crowd. In the 15th over of the innings, Maxwell hit a monstrous 103-metre six, picking up a fullish tossed-up delivery by the left-arm spinner. The shot went high up in the air and cleared the boundary rope landing somewhere in between the crowd.

Apart from Maxwell’s match-winning knock, the hero of the ODI World Cup final 2023 and another lethal Aussie player Travis Head also stood out with a special knock. Head smashed 77 runs in just 44 balls to help his side gain an easy victory and storm into the final. Washington will now wait for the winner of the Challenger, where San Francisco Unicorns will go up against Texas Super Kings in a do-or-die affair.
