IMD: Heavy rain, thunderstorms likely in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh over next 2 days

Hyderabad: Heavy rain is very likely to occur in various districts of Telangana including Nalgonda, Suryapet, Rangareddy, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Mahabubnagar, Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthy, Naraynpet, Jogulamba Gadwal, India Meteorological Department said in its forecast.

Thunderstorms with rain accompanied with lightning and gusty winds is very likely in Hyderabad, Medchal Malkajgiri along with above mentioned districts over the next two days. Light to moderate rain is likely at a few places till June 17, as per the weather department.

Rain also lashed other districts of Khammam, Nalgonda districts of Telangana on Monday morning along with scattered rain in parts of Medak, Siddipet, Sangareddy districts.

Andhra Pradesh:

In the neighbouring Andhra Pradesh, heavy rain is likely to occur over Rayalaseema on June 11 and thunderstorms with lightning and winds is likely over North Coastal AP, Yanam, South Coastal AP regions till June 14.

During next 72 hours very serious rainfall can occur in Rayalaseema. Might cause extreme floods in combined Kurnool, Anantapur districts. These rain will increase the flow of Krishna river ultimately leading to flood, independent weather blogger Sai Kiran said on social media platform X.
