Talking points from IND vs BAN T20I series
Nitish Reddy’s emergence
Over the last few years, India has struggled to find Hardik Pandya’s backup in the team but that’s not the case now after Nitish Reddy’s fabulous performance in the T20I series. The all-rounder impressed everyone with his brilliant performance in the IPL. He was earlier selected for the T20I series against Zimbabwe but was ruled out due to injury.
Nitish made his India debut in the first T20I in Gwalior but didn’t got enough chance to prove himself on the big stage. In the second T20I, he delivered a match-winning performance by scoring 74 runs off 34 balls and taking two wickets. His emergence is certainly a huge boost for Team India ahead of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
Sanju Samson shuts critics
After failing in the first two matches, Sanju Samson has delivered a magnificent performance by scoring his maiden T20I century. The wicketkeeper batter had a poor outing in the T20I series against Sri Lanka and also failed to make an impact in the first two matches of the Bangladesh series with many questioning his place in the team but Sanju shut down his critics with a powerful performance in the third T20I in Hyderabad.
Hardik Pandya showcases his importance
After the poor IPL 2024, Hardik Pandya has consistently delivered stunning performances for the team with bat and ball. The all-rounder took 11 wickets and scored 144 runs in the T20 World Cup 2024. He has continued to improve his game, Hardik scored 39 runs off 16 balls and stitched a crucial partnership with Nitish Reddy to help India take a 1-0 lead in the series. He shined again with the bat in the second T20I and scored 32 runs off 19 balls and in the last match of the series, Hardik scored 47 runs off 18 balls.
