New Delhi: After the first day washed out, the rain has stayed away long enough from the opening Test match between India and New Zealand that all three results are possible on Day 5 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Rohit and Co. got all out for 46 runs in the first innings, five batters got out on a duck and only two batters managed to score 10+ runs. Matt Henry took five wickets, while William ORourke picked up four wickets.

New Zealand openers provided a great start to their team and stitched a 67-run partnership for the first wicket. Latham was removed by Kuldeep Yadav on 15 runs but Conway batted well and built another 75-run partnership with Will Young.

After the middle order failed to score runs, Rachin Ravindra along with Tim Southee stitched a 137-run partnership for the eighth wicket as The Blackcaps scored 402 runs in the first innings. Rachin scored an outstanding hundred and Southee also scored a fifty. Rohit and Jaiswal started well and built a 72-run partnership for the first wicket in the second innings.

Ajaz Patel removed both the Indian openers but Virat Kohli and Sarfaraz stitched a 136-run partnership for the third wicket. Glenn Phillips dismissed Kohli (70) on the last ball of the day. Sarfaraz and Rishabh Pant started brilliantly on day 4 and built a 177-run partnership.

Sarfaraz scored his first Test century while Pant scored 99 runs. New Zealand pacers troubled Indian batters with the second new ball and The Men in Blue bundled out for 462 runs, leading by 107 runs.

Bengaluru weather for Day 5 of IND vs NZ Test

As per Accuweather, Heavy rain is expected in the city throughout the day and the temperature will range around 22 to 27 degrees Celsius. The weather will be gloomy and dark throughout the day. There are chances of thunderstorms around 9-10 AM and the start of the play might be delayed till 3 PM IST. The cloud cover is likely to be 100 percent and the humidity level is predicted to be 60 to 70 percent.

 All three results are possible on Day 5 of the first Test match between India and New Zealand at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. But will rain play a spoilsport?
