IND vs ZIM: I enjoyed my batting, had my plans for different bowlers, says Shubman Gill

New Delhi: Shubman Gill was a satisfied man after India’s series clincing win over Zimbabwe in the fourth T20I.

India went down in the first game of a five-match series but have now won three on the trot, winning the fourth game by 10 wickets.

Gill was among the runs, scoring an unbeaten 58 off 39 balls, with his opening partner cracking 93 not out off 53 balls as they chased down a 153-run target with 28 balls to spare.

Gill was happy that they could claim the series with a game in hand, while chasing a target, crediting the pool of players he has got.

“Chasing was one thing we talked about. We could not do it in the first game, so good to get it done. The job is not done, though,” Gill said after the match.

“This is a great team, great bunch of players. Hopefully, we will be able to take the team forward.”

Jaiswal was named man of the match and disclosed he enjoyed batting at the easy track at the Harare Sports Club.

“I really enjoyed my batting today. I had my plans for different bowlers. The ball was coming on when it was new and as it got old, it was quite slow. I enjoyed batting with Shubman,” the left hander said.

“I understood and changed my game. We really enjoyed together. Initially, I wanted to go after my shots. After that, I wanted to rotate and wanted to stay till the end.”

Cutters and yorkers for Khaleel

Pacer Khaleel Ahmed was very deceptive with his slower deliveries, dismissing Dion Myers (12) and Clive Madande (7) for figures of 2/32.

The 26-year-old said he worled a lot on his variations during the T20 World Cup, in which he travelled with the team as a reserve player.

“I was part of the World Cup reserves, and there, I worked a lot on my cutters and yorkers. I am very happy with my performance. The kind of rhythm I have got, and the execution has been great,” he said.

“This series is everything for me. When I was not part of the dressing room, I was missing it a lot. Very happy to be a part of it. We have all played in the IPL; we are all together in this.”
