New Delhi: India will tour Bangladesh in August for a white-ball series featuring three one-day internationals and as many T2OI matches, which will the first exclusive white-ball series between the two teams since 2014.

It will mark the first time that India will feature in a T20I bilateral series in Bangladesh. The Indian team will arrive in Dhaka on August 13.

The tour will begin with the ODI series, with the first match scheduled to be held on August 17, followed by the second game on August 20 at the Sher-e-Bangla Stadium in Mirpur, Dhaka, the Bangladesh Cricket Board announced on Tuesday.

The series will then move to Chattogram for the third ODI on August 23 and the first T20 on August 26 after which the two teams will return to Dhaka for the last two T20s on August 29 and 31, respectively.

Both teams will look to use the series as a tune-up event for the 2025 Asia Cup T20, which India is scheduled to host. Since Pakistan might not travel to India as per a pre-arranged understanding between the two countries, it remains to be seen if the tournament is held entirely in Sri Lanka, Bangladesh or the United Arab Emirates.

“This series promises to be one of the most exciting and most anticipated events in our home calendar,” BCB’s chief executive Nizam Uddin Chowdhury told ESPNcricinfo.

“India have set the benchmark in international cricket across all formats and the cricket-loving millions in both countries are sure to enjoy this contest.

“Bangladesh and India have played some very competitive matches in recent years, and I am confident that this will be another hard-fought and entertaining series,” he added.

The month of August isn’t considered to be the cricket season in Bangladesh but over the years they have played during this period two times – a Test against Australia in 2017 and five T20Is in 2021 also against Australia.

In 2014, India travelled to Bangladesh for a three ODIs in June.

It will be the first time that India will feature in a T20I bilateral series in Bangladesh and they will arrive in Dhaka on August 13.  Cricket Sports News: Latest Cricket News, Cricket Live Score, Sports Breaking News from Sports Today
