New Delhi: India will take on Bangladesh in their second match of the Super 8 at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua on June 22. The top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals of the tournament.
India, Bangladesh campaign in T20 World Cup
Both teams had brilliant campaigns in the mega event so far India has won all of their matches while Bangladesh lost a group stage match against South Africa and also lost their first Super 8 match against Australia. The Men in Blue started their campaign with a dominating win against Ireland after that they defeated Pakistan by 6 runs and co-host USA by 7 wickets. Their last group-stage match against Canada was washed out due to heavy rain and Rohit Sharma and Co. defeated Afghanistan by 47 runs in their first Super 8 match.
Najmul Hossain Shanto-led side defeated Sri Lanka, Netherlands and Nepal to qualify for the next round. After losing their first Super 8 match Australia, Bangladesh need to win their match against India to keep their semi-final hopes alive while India will be in a strong position to qualify for semi-finals if they beat Bangladesh.
