Jos Buttler takes a flying catch to dismiss Quinton de Kock in ENG vs SA T20 WC clash – Watch

New Delhi: Jos Buttler produced a stunning flying catch to dismiss Quinton de Kock in the T20 World Cup 2024 Super Eight game between England and South Africa on Friday. Batting first, De Kock proved to be the chief architect of the show for the Proteas producing another remarkable half-century which set the perfect base for the South Africans.

De Kock’s powerful knock was studded with four boundaries and as many sixes as the wicketkeeper-batter smashed 65 runs in just 38 deliveries to wreck havoc on the English bowlers. His power-packed innings was cut short by a outside off-stump delivery bowled by lethal pacer Jofra Archer and Buttler completed it by taking a superb flying catch.

Buttler becomes a bird

Buttler flew in the air like a bird onto his left side and completed the catch using just his left hand. Meanwhile, the strong start given by De Kock and middle-order boost by David Miller didn’t go in the manner it was expected to as the Proteas could only score 163/6 in the stipulated 20 overs, when they were looking on course for a total of at least 180-190.

Miller pushed the scoring with his 28-ball 43-run knock but other solid batters in the camp failed to deliver for the side. The fiery Heinrich Klaasen failed to score as he got out for just 8 runs while skipper Aiden Markram was cleaned up by Adil Rashid for just one run. Although, many wickets were not scalped by the English bowlers as they just picked the important ones but the way they controlled the run-flow after the initial damage was commendable.
