New Delhi: India will face China in the final of the Women’s Champions Trophy at the Rajgir Hockey Stadium in Bihar on Wednesday. The Women in Blue secured a place in the final with a close 2-0 victory against Japan with Navneet Kaur and Lalremsiami on the scoresheet in eight minutes.
China reached in the final with a 3-1 win against Malaysia in the semifinal. Deng Quichan, Fan Yunxia and Tan Jinzhuang scored the goal for China while Khairunissa Mohammed scored only one goal for Malaysia in the 36th minute. So far, India have won six matches in the tournament, including a 3-0 win against China in the group stage.
In the third-place playoff match, Japan will take on Malaysia who lost their semifinal against China 3-1.
