Baffling! Singapore bundle Mongolia out for 10, joint lowest men’s T20I score – WATCH

New Delhi: Mongolia endured an embarrassing outing as they collapsed for a paltry score of 10 all-out against Singapore in the ICC T20 World Cup Asia Qualifier A 2024 at the USD-UKM Cricket Oval in Bangi on Thursday. With this, Mongolia equalled the record-lowest score in a men’s T20I that the Isle of Man had registered against Spain last year. The complete game lasted for just 65 balls.

Opting to bowl first, Singapore put Mongolia to bat and sent down 10 overs under which all the 10 batters were sent back to the pavilion for a score of 10. The scattering started from the first over itself when Harsha Bharadwaj picked two scalps and took his tally to a total of six, getting the Player of the Match award. His 6 for 3 are the second best figures in a men’s T20I.

Akshay Puri picked two wickets while Rahul Sheshadri and Ramesh Kalimuthu picked up one wicket apiece. Singapore in response, chased the 11-run target in just five balls and won the game by nine wickets, with 115 balls remaining. Manpreet Singh was the only wicket Mongolia could manage as they went down with their fourth consecutive game, being at the table’s last spot while Singapore bagged a second victory in the tournament.

Harsha’s magic

The 17-year-old leg-spinner picked five of the six wickets Mongolia lost inside the powerplay. A total of five batters scored ducks for Mongolia who have registered three of the four lowest totals in men’s T20Is and all of them have notably arrived in 2024.

The ten overs that Mongolia batted, they played put three maiden overs. Their longest partnerships were the fourth and the last wicket one which lasted 11 balls. During the chase, Raoul Sharma hit a six off the second ball after the first ball removed Manpreet. Meanwhile, William Simpson sealed the deal for Singapore with a four off the penultimate ball of the first over.

In a bizarre instance, Singapore thumped Mongolia by nine wickets in the T20 World Cup Asia Qualifier A 2024 after bundling them out for a meagre 10 at the USD-UKM Cricket Oval in Bangi on Thursday.  Cricket Sports News: Latest Cricket News, Cricket Live Score, Sports Breaking News from Sports Today
