New Delhi: India will now head to the Niranjan Shah Stadium in Rajkot to seal the five-match T20I series against England on January 28, Tuesday. Men in Blue are leading the T20I series 2-0 and will carry the winning momentum into the third match of the series.
After dominating the first match in Eden Gardens, the English side came with proper planning and gave a thriller contest in the second match. Tilak Verma came out on top with a match-winning innings of unbeaten 72 runs off 55 balls.
In the second T20I, India won the toss and invited England to bat first and Arshdeep replicated the first T20I performance as he removed Phil Salt in the very first over. England’s skipper again played a steady innings but Axar Patel got rid of the English skipper.
Brydon Carse’s finishing touches gave a respectable total of 165 runs in 20 overs. India’s spin magic again performed well as spinners took six wickets out of nine in England’s innings.
In response, England’s bowlers removed India’s openers early and tested the Indian middle-order. Verma stood at one end but England’s bowlers were picking wickets at regular intervals. Verma held his nerves and took his team over the line in a thriller contest.
