New Delhi: After a mixed 2024 which started with a Test series win against South Africa in Cape Town and then The Men in Blue finally managed to end the 11-year-long wait for an ICC title in Barbados. Rohit and Co. suffered a massive setback and lost a home Test series against New Zealand.
Another big setback included an ODI series defeat against Sri Lanka after 27 years. In the 15 Test matches, Team India managed to win 8 and lost 6 while one match ended in a draw. At the start of 2025, Team India will look to level the Border-Gavaskar Trophy by winning the last Test of the series in Sydney. They need to win the Sydney Test to keep their World Test Championship (WTC) final hopes alive, a loss or draw would end their campaign.
After the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, The Men in Blue will shift focus to a white-ball series against England to prepare for the upcoming Champions Trophy 2025. After the Champions Trophy and IPL 2025, Team India will travel to England for the five-match Test series. India’s home season will start in October with the Asia Cup 2025 and a two-match Test series against West Indies. The Men in Blue will also travel to Australia for three ODIs and five T20Is in October-November.
