New Delhi: Indian Railways has decided to continue operations of summer special trains right throughout July 2024. Consequently, travelers would be able to continue to book tickets in total of 17 such summer special trains being operated by Indian Railways. Both Northern and Western Railway announced that they will keep ticket booking option open for passengers for such trains till the end of the current month. Some Summer Special trains were to stop running in mid June or towards the end of the month. But now, the government has decided to keep running these trains right till July 2024 end.
Some of these trains are Summer Special Train Varanasi to Mumbai, Summer Special Train Delhi to Patna, Summer Special Train Delhi to Mumbai, to name a few.

The following table contains details of summer special trains whose services have been extended by Norther Railway. The table details train numbers, train routes, number of trips, date of run, and the date till which bookings will be open.
For some of these trains, the ticket booking window is already open. While, on other routes, the window will open from the date as specified in the table. But bookings will remain open almost till end of July 2024.

The Western Railway has also extended bookings of four pairs of special trains right till end of July. These trains run to and fro on following routes: Bandra – Ajmer, Jaipur – Bandra, Bikaner- Bikaner, etc. The train numbers are 09622, 09654, 04712 and 09724. The Western Railway said that passengers can book tickets of these trains on all PRS counters and IRCTC website.
