New Delhi: The FIFA Club World Cup 2025 is set to get underway in the United States on Sunday, June 15, with Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami taking on Egyptian club Al Ahly in the opener. The match will be played at the Hard Rock stadium in Florida, where fans from around the world are expected to gather to watch the Argentine maestro in action.
The FIFA World Cup is set to be bigger and better this time around as it will be an extended tournament consisting of 32 teams and will be played for the duration of a month. Earlier, only seven teams used to take part in the tournament. Inter Miami are part of Group A in the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 alongside Al Ahly, Porto and Palmeiras.
Al Ahly, who have thrice been part of the Club World Cup, are the most successful club in Egypt with 45 national league titles to their name. They have also won the domestic cup 39 times in their country. Al Ahly finished third in the Club World Cup in 2023 and will be hoping to go one step better this time around as they aim to start their campaign on a high against Messi’s Inter Miami.
