IPL 2025: Fans left frustrated as CSK vs MI match tickets go live, but to no avail!

New Delhi: The epic rivalry between two of the most favourite Indian Premier League (IPL) teams – Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Mumbai Indians (MI) is well-versed. The two giants enjoy a huge fan base and, much to their excitement, will be locking horns in their respective tournament openers. On March 23, the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium will host the marquee CSK vs MI clash.

It promises to be a packed house at the Chepauk as the home team informed about the ticket sales only four days before. The tickets were to go live at 10:15 AM on March 19 on several e-ticketing platforms but only a few fans were able to get through. The rest were sent to the long virtual queues, not being able to get to the ticket window, which ended their hopes of getting tickets to the epic clash.

With a queue number of more than 1,00,000, one can only expect the tickets to have been sold out. With the huge number of fans wanting to witness the battle live, the tickets seemed to have vanished in a few minutes. Those trying after 10:20 AM saw a long e-queue ahead of them. This led them to share their ordeals on the internet with screenshots of their respective numbers.

Here are a few fan reactions –

Selling blacked tickets

Every year, the IPL faces the selling of black tickets, where a few people buy several tickets for a single game in bulk and resell them at five to ten times the original price. Several fanatics have no other option left but to purchase these kinds of tickets to watch the game and their heroes live.

Although it is understood that for a capacity of 35,000 or so, only a number of tickets will be going live but those desperately wanting to watch the game live have to face these black market sellers who somehow get their hands on the prized tickets. To add more salt to their wounds, this virtual queue system seems to have made ticket purchasing even more difficult.

Soon as the match tickets for the marquee clash between CSK and MI went live on March 19, it looked to be a sold out affair. Fans vented out their frustration on the internet, as they were left waiting in long e-queues.  Cricket Sports News: Latest Cricket News, Cricket Live Score, Sports Breaking News from Sports Today
