The authorities have recommended that the game be moved to Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at 3:30 PM, and the request has been accommodated accordingly. What did the CAB president say?
Earlier this month, there were several reports regarding the rescheduling of the KKR-LSG game as it clashed with the Ram Navami festival (on April 6). CAB president Snehasish Ganguly engaged in several discussions regarding the same and ultimately had to request the BCCI due to the shortage of police personnel on the said day.
“I had several rounds of talks with the Kolkata police, and they said they won’t be able to provide enough security on that day (April 6). If there’s no police protection, accommodating and managing a 65,000-strong crowd becomes impossible,” Snehasish told PTI earlier this month.
It isn’t for the first time that the IPL or the BCCi is moving a game because of the shortage of police personnel. It happened last season in Kolkata as well due to the same festival.
The game was originally scheduled to be held on April 6, but Kolkata Police and the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) requested the BCCI to reschedule the fixture owing to security concerns. Cricket Sports News: Latest Cricket News, Cricket Live Score, Sports Breaking News from Sports Today
