New Delhi: New Zealand pacer Trent Boult scripted a big record on Thursday after he reached the 300-wicket mark in T20s. Boult, who is not playing for New Zealand currently, achieved the mark in the Indian Premier League 2025 match between Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals in Jaipur on May 1.
The New Zealand pacer reached to the landmark with the wicket of prolific Rajasthan batter Yashasvi Jaiswal who was dismissed for 13 after hitting couple of big hits. Boult, who went on to claim another wicket in the game, crossed Pakistan’s Shaheen Shah Afridi who has 300 wickets in 216 innings. His 301st wicket was that of Royals batter Nitish Rana who could only muster 11 runs.

He has now equalled Haris Rauf’s tally of 301 wickets in 225 innings, having crossed the mark in his 255th T20 innings. By virtue of this record, Trent Boult has become the third New Zealand bowler to cross 300 wickets in T20s.

Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians beat Rajasthan Royals in the clash by a 100-run margin to top the points table with their seventh win in 11 matches. In the Indian Premier League, Boult has picked 136 wickets in 114 innings doing well for multiple franchises. Having being associated with Mumbai Indians, the Kiwi was a key player for the Rajasthan Royals playing a pivotal role in the franchise reaching the final of the 2022 season.
He was released ahead of the 2025 season and Mumbai picked him again to complete their pace attack with Jasprit Bumrah and Deepak Chahar.
