IRCTC Air insurance: Accident Death coverage of Rs 50 lakh

New Delhi: Thousands of people book their flight tickets for domestic and international travel via IRCTC website and app. IRCTC, which provides ticketing, catering, and tourism services, has informed about its insurance plans on air tickets. IRCTC Air insurance scheme is aimed at providing insurance of up to Rs 50 lakh on several routes.

All the domestic and international flight passengers who are booking flight tickets through IRCTC air portal www.air.irctc.co.in can opt for the insurance scheme. However, free insurance facility is not available for the Goair/FlyGoFirst bookings currently.

IRCTC is providing insurance cover of Rs 50 lakh for accidental death and Permanent Total Disablement during the journey. It is providing up to Rs 50,00,00 cover for Permanent partial disability.

IRCTC has mentioned that Travel Insurance will not be applicable for the passengers traveling to following countries. In case of multiple segment journey, Insurance will be issued only for the segments where both source and destination are not in the Blacklist countries.

China, Congo, Cuba, East Timor or Timor-Leste, Faroe Islands, French Southern Territories, Ghana, Guadeloupe, Guinea, Heard Island and McDonald Islands, Iran, Iraq, Ivory Coast, Jamaica, Kazakhstan, Liberia, Libyan Arab Jamahiriya, Myanmar, Nicaragua, North Korea, Pakistan, Panama, Papua New Guinea, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Somalia, South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands, South Sudan, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Sudan Svalbard & Jan Mayen Islands, Syrian Arab Republic, Timor-Leste, Tokelau, Tunisia, Uganda, Ukraine, Western Sahara, Yemen, and Zimbabwe.
