New Delhi: Team India white-washed Bangladesh in the two-match Test series at home. The Men in Blue won the first match by 280 runs at the MA Chidambaram Stadium and in the second match, Rohit and Co. won the game by 7 wickets within three days at Kanpur’s Green Park Stadium.
After the series, Indian captain Rohit Sharma praised his team’s fielding during the series. Several Indian players took some stunning catches during the Test series.
‘Out of 24 catches, we took 23 of them’: Rohit Sharma
In a video shared by the BCCI after the second Test, the Indian captain said that it may look easy on television to take those catches but it is not in reality. He further added that in India ball doesn’t carry to slips but the guys in that position did a great job.
“It may go unnoticed, but I was just informed that out of the 24 catches that came our way, we took 23 of them, which is a great result. Especially in the slips, you don’t often see in India a ball carrying through the slips. But the guys who were standing behind were so sharp and to take those catches, it may look easy on television, but it is not” Rohit said on BCCI.tv.
‘Lucky enough to hold on to the catch’: Rohit Sharma
Rohit also talked about his spectacular catch to dismiss Liton Das on Day 4 and said that his jump timing was good and if he didn’t make the jump on time it was very easy to miss. He further added that he was lucky enough to hold on to the catch.
“The timing had to be good because otherwise, if you don’t time the jump well, it is very easy to miss on. I would say I was lucky enough to hold on to it. I put the jump at the right time and put my hand to the right place at the right time” Rohit said in a video released by the BCCI. Team India will face New Zealand next in the three-match Test series, starting on October 16.
