Italy to host Davis Cup Final 8 for next three years

New Delhi: The Davis Cup Final 8 stage will be staged in Italy for the following three years between 2025 and 2027, the International Tennis Federation (ITF) announced on Monday. Italy defended its crown last month after prevailing over the Netherlands 2-0 in Malaga, Spain.

It was a double celebrations for Italy as the women team also clinched the Billie Jean King Cup with an identical 2-0 win over Slovakia in the final. The dual triumphs has prompted the organisers to push the men’s World Cup (Davis Cup) on the shores of Italy where the quarterfinals, semifinals and the final will be staged with Bologna set to host the 2025 event.

The traditional format of Davis Cup tie involves two singles matches being played on the first day and the doubles and two more singles matches on the following day.
