New Delhi: Benoit Saint-Denis suffered a devastating loss in his hometown France. Renato Moicano defeated Saint-Denis at the Accor Arena in Paris, France on September 29, Sunday. Moicano didn’t knock out Saint-Denis nor any decision victory. It was a doctor-stoppage decision from the referee and the doctor’s team.
Moicano closed out Saint-Denis at the main event, he was dominated from the start of the fight. Moicano sent Saint-Denis into the canvas and got the takedown in the initial minutes.
Moicano caught Saint-Denis in the ground and then it was just a top-class show from Moicano as he dominated in every position on the ground with his elbows, punches, and kicks. Saint-Denis had some positive moments in the fight but couldn’t capitalise on shots.
“It wasn’t my day, this sport is hard but incredible,” Saint-Denis wrote on Instagram.
“Respect to my opponent for facing me at home, and congratulations to Renato Moicano,” he concluded. “God tests us, and that’s nothing to compare with what I could experience.” Saint-Denis added.
Moicano dominated the second round as well and hit some combinations to Saint-Denis. He was pumped up in the fight and beat the hell out of Saint-Denis in the second round. After the second round, doctors came to see Denis and declared he was not fit to continue the fight in the third round.
The referee then called out the match and declared Moicano as the winner by Doctor stoppage. Moicano now is on a four-fight win streak and posted a 7-2 record in his last nine fights. While Saint-Denis has now lost two back-to-back fights and will regroup to find mistakes in his fight.
Saint-Denis was hit so hard that his eyes were swallowed up and blood was continuously coming from his mouth.
