New Delhi: Indian speedster Jasprit Bumrah has overtaken his teammate Ravichandran Ashwin to regain the top spot in the ICC Test rankings for bowlers. Bumrah was rewarded for his superb bowling display against Bangladesh in the second Test in Kanpur, where he picked up six wickets to help India win the match by seven wickets and the series by a 2-0 margin.
This is only the second time Bumrah has claimed the premier position in the ICC Test rankings. The superstar pacer overtook Ashwin, who claimed five wickets of his own during the Kanpur Test and is only one point behind Bumrah’s rating of 870 points.
Bangladesh spinner Mehidy Hasan is up four spots to 18th while veteran spinner Shakib Al Hasan, who in all likelihood played his last Test in Kanpur, rises five places to 28th.
