New Delhi: The feeling of India’s landmark victory in the T20 World Cup 2024 hasn’t sunk in yet. The Men in Blue finally ended the 13-year-long World Cup curse after multiple heartbreaks over the last decade. The unbeaten champions fulfilled billions of dreams with the historic win over South Africa in the final of the T20 showpiece event. BCCI secretary Jay Shah travelled across Americas to attend almost every India match. Shah was present at the Kensington Oval to watch history unfold in front of his eyes.
Before India embarked on the World Cup mission, Shah made a promise. And with India’s win that promise was fulfilled. Indian skipper Rohit Sharma fulfilled his promise by hoisting the Indian flag in the Kensington Oval ground after India defeated the Proteas by seven runs to win their second T20 World Cup trophy.
Shah was standing alongside the Indian skipper during the historic moment. In a couple of videos released by Star Sports, the BCCI boss can be seen joining the celebrations on the ground, hugging several Indian players, waving the flag and even lifting the World Cup trophy with the Men in Blue.
