New Delhi: England pacer Jofra Archer has taken a surprising U-turn and will participate in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 mega auction scheduled to take place on November 24 and 25. Archer had sent shock waves across the globe when his name was missing from the shortened list of 574 players from the mega event to be held in Jeddah.

Earlier in the main list of more than 1500 players, Jofra Archer’s name was very well featuring but in the latest update, his name was missing from the final list, which came as a shock for most of the cricketing fans. What became hard to digest was that no team was showing interest in the fast bowler, has earlier represented Mumbai Indians in the cash-rich league.

Archer into the auction with BCCI’s permission

As per the latest buzz in the media circle and social media especially, the seamer, with the permission of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will likely be a part of the mega auction which is slated for this Sunday and Monday. It was earlier reported that England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) had denied permission to Archer and Mark Wood to participate in the IPL just to focus on the English summer.

But as per the latest reports, it’s being said that the seamer has convinced the ECB for IPL participation and the board in return has agreed to his desire of playing the cash-rich league. Now, it’s up to the BCCI to give a go ahead to the English pacer and included him in the auction list. Since the final list is out, it would be interesting note when and how the Indian cricket board gives permission to the fast bowler. Archer last player in the IPL for Mumbai Indians in the 2023 edition.
