New Delhi: WWE superstar John Cena is nearing his retirement tour which is set to kick off next year. In the build-up to the highly anticipated tour, challengers have already started lining up for a match against Cena, the recent being Carmelo Hayes, who called him out for a bout in 2025. Earlier this year, the Franchise Player announced that he would bid adieu to the company after a massive retirement tour in 2025.
The tour will take off in January when the company will make its debut on streaming giant Netflix with Monday Night RAW. As Cena walks to his WWE sunset he has got another probable contender in the form of Hayes, who in a recent interview with Denise Salcedo called out the 16-time WWE World Champion. He also believes that he stands at the front in the line of all the opponents desiring to lock horns with Cena when he returns in 2025.
“I will call out somebody just because I feel like this is the perfect time to do it. I talked about it earlier today as well, but John Cena, he’s on his retirement tour. He put out the message. He said, ‘You want some, come get some,'” Sportskeeda Wrestling quoted Hayes as saying.
“I think, to be honest, I’m right at the front of the line of people that are going to come get some. So, John, I’m just letting you know, just giving you the heads up. Your time is up and my time is now,” he added.
Do Cena and Hayes share any past?
Well… yes they do! Last year, Cena returned to WWE for a short period when the Hollywood stars went on a strike. During that time, he made several infrequent appearances along with other notable superstars and veterans. Cena was in Carmelo Hayes’ corner when Hayes took on Bron Breakker. During the bout, Cena stopped Breakker from using the steel steps and departed as he fought with Solo Sikoa.
That particular assist helped Carmelo Hayes to defeat Bron Breakker. With days coming closer for the retirement tour, the fans’ excitement level is at its peak.
