New Delhi: The former UFC Welterweight champion Kamaru Usman acknowledged the dominant performance by Middleweight champion Dricus Du Plessis against Sean Strickland at UFC 312 event on February 9, Sunday.
Usman believed two middleweight contenders would pose more challenge to Du Plessis in the octagon. The first name Usman took was Khamzat Chimaev, who is still unbeaten in his professional MMA career. Usman also fought against Chimaev but Chimaev beat Usman in a three-round fight.
The former champion knows what Chimaev brings into the octagon and he is a tough matchup for the champion because of his grappling skills and his extra power will trouble him also.
Chimaev is also the next potential opponent for the South African champ as Dana White announced that next title contender at the UFC 312 post-fight interview. Chimaev dominated former champion Robert Whittaker in his last fight.

Usman shared that another fighter who would trouble Du Plessis is Nassourdine Imavov. Usman thinks if DDP fought Imavov the way that he fought Strickland, then the fight wouldn’t go the same way.
Imavov brings a different style of fighting style and he has the power to knock anyone out in the division. Imavov was trailing in his last fight against Israel Adesanya but he made a superb comeback in the second round and knocked out Adesanya.
Imavov will also challenge the champion after his title defence against Chimaev as he is currently ranked no. 2 fighter in the middleweight division.
